Beautiful View in Toledo, Spain

I recently took a trip to Spain in March 2017.  I had the opportunity to travel with some of fellow travel agents and Insight vacations.  We started in Madrid.  What a majestic city.  Shopping on the Gran Via (high end shops).  We went to the Prada museum and I was so impressed with the Remembrant painting (you need to see for yourself).  We stopped for Chirro's and chocolate and enjoyed Tapas for lunch.

Then we continued to "holy Toledo" what a quaint town on the top of the river Tagus.  Do you know Toledo's sister city?  We strolled the cobblestone streets.  Visited the small church (Santo Tome) that houses El Greco's famous painting and is also the burial ground of the Count of Orgaz.

Next stop ... Granada for a night and we took a morning tour through the Alhambra Palace. The gardens were perfectly manicured and had incredible detail in the tile work and ponds.  Definitely worth the visit.

We then moved south to Seville where orange trees line the streets.  These trees are meant for ornamental purposes.  The oranges themselves are not edible, but are used to make orange marmalade.  We visited the La Giradla which houses the remains of Christopher Columbus.  Stopped for Tapas (a must when in Spain) and strolled the streets doing some shopping.  Our evening entertainment was a incredible, we enjoyed a flamenco show.  YAH!

A long day drive through the rolling hills of olive trees as far as the eye could see to the Lisbon, Portugal.

In Portugal we stopped for "Pasties de Belem" incredible pastries (don't miss) and a stop at the Belem Tower.  The evening was dinner with Portugese music and a farewell to my fellow traveling divas.
