Hawaii for your Multi-Gen Family Vacation

amily vacations no longer mean Mom, Dad and the kids – grandparents are part of the equation nowadays!  Older people are much more active than they used to be, and often they live far away from their children and grandchildren.  It’s so much more fun for the family to reunite on vacation – nobody has to cook or clean, and there’s always something fun to do for everyone.

There are lots of places that are great for this kind of vacation, but I think Hawaii is one of the best, and here’s why: 

Awesome adventures on every island

• Hawaii ( the Big Island) is home to the spectacular Kilauea, an active volcano in Volcanoes National Park, the black sand beach at Punalu’u, and (for Grandma and Grandpa) coffee and macadamia nut plantations


• Maui for viewing humpback whales, watching the sunrise on Haleakala, and driving the road to Hana to enjoy the Seven Sacred Pools


• Kauai for a helicopter ride over majestic Waimea Canyon, strolls through beautiful garden preserves, and a chance to see turtles and seals on Poipu Beach


• Oahu for authentic Hawaiian history at the Polynesian Cultural Center and a traditional luau, a visit to the Pearl Harbor Memorial, and Waikiki Beach for people watching and souvenir shopping 

Your keiki (child) will love playing on the fabulous sand beaches, learning to surf or play the ukulele, and teaching Grandma and Grandpa how to hula.  Mom and Dad will love having built-in babysitters so they can play some of the award winning golf courses on the islands or have a peaceful cocktail while watching the sunset.  Grandma and Grandpa will just love being part of this experience  spending quality time with their grandchildren ( provided they’re allowed a nap once in a while!)
