CANCUN

My first visit was in November 2022 and we stayed in Cancun at the Sun Palace. This is a beautiful all-inclusive adults only property located right in the Cancun hotel zone. It is situated on a gorgeous stretch of beach and all of the rooms have fantastic ocean views. The ocean here has that beautiful blue Caribbean color and the waves were relaxing. There is a great section of beach for walkers to enjoy. The lobby in this resort has a beachy relaxing vacation vibe.  They have a delicious coffeeshop called Sweet & Coffee that offers macaroons, crepes, cakes and yummy coffee drinks. We enjoyed all of our meals at each restaurant. Sun Palace offers 24-hour room service and I enjoyed my breakfast on the balcony every morning watching the sunrise over the blue waters of the Caribbean sea. This resort would be a good choice for couples looking for a romantic getaway.

RIVIERA MAYA – PLAYA DEL CARMEN

My second visit was in March 2023 and we stayed at Hotel Xcaret Mexico. This is a family friendly resort located south of Playa del Carmen. You will fly into the Cancun airport and then you have about an hour drive to the resort. I would highly recommend a private luxury transfer if you want something a little extra special when you arrive. Otherwise Hotel Xcaret Mexico does provide transportation in their bus to the resort. This is a sprawling resort with many pools, restaurants and access to the Xcaret parks.  Transportation to and from the parks is also included. There is a system to book your park experiences and that is something I can help you with when you book this resort with me. Our family visited Xcaret Park & Xplor Park during our visit. The Xcaret Park was a great park for families with young children and our family really enjoyed the opportunity to explore this park. Xplor is the park for adventure. This had the best zip line adventure that I have ever experienced. I would definitely recommend this for families with teenagers or anyone that enjoys the rush of zip lining over the treetops in Mexico! The food at this resort is delicious and our families favorite was the Las Cuevas restaurant which is a Brazilian style steakhouse in a cave lit up with candles. It was very cool and we left here very full! They have beautiful pools at this resort and a river that runs through it with bridges that connect the buildings. The beach is pretty small here so it is probably not the number one choice for beach lovers. Our family didn’t mind because there were so many other wonderful things to see and do at the Hotel Xcaret Mexico. This is a truly unique resort south of Playa del Carmen that I recommend for families. It is a great combination of adventures at the parks along with relaxation and fun at the resort.

PUERTO VALLARTA

My third visit was in April 2023 to Puerto Vallarta and I stayed at Secrets Puerto Vallarta. This was my first time to Puerto Vallarta and I’m already planning a return trip! I loved visiting a new destination in Mexico and exploring the different beaches. The beaches here reminded me of Costa Rica and Hawaii. You have the hard packed sand and great waves for surfing or boogie boarding. You have the option of staying at Secrets which is an adults only resort or you could stay right next door with your family at Dreams which is a family friendly resort. Both of these resorts are a short taxi ride from the Malecon which is Puerto Vallarta’s boardwalk full of restaurants, shops, street performers and art along the ocean. We also visited Marival Armony which is a beautiful resort near Sayulita in Punta de Mita. This is a dreamy resort that made me feel like I could be at a South Pacific island resort. Marival Armony is a quiet adults only resort that would be excellent for honeymooners or a relaxing girls getaway. It has different spa experiences from around the world for those looking for the ultimate in relaxation. The spa included treatments from countries like Bali, Italy, Japan, Turkey and India. The spa experiences were traditional treatments from each country. This resort also offers yoga, tai chi and sound healing classes. The view from their infinity pool is absolutely stunning! On our final night in Puerto Vallarta we went to ALMA by Rhythms of the Night. This was about an hour long boat trip to the enchanting beachside restaurant where we had a delicious dinner while enjoying the sunset and local musicians. After dinner the whole area was lit up by candles that led us up a path to the outdoor theatre where we enjoyed an amazing show under the stars. After the show on the boat ride back our boat crew did a hilarious lip sync of Queen songs. It was a magical night and an experience I would highly recommend.
