Magnificent Denali

Denali National Park is a vast wilderness area in Alaska.  This six million acre park encompasses mountain ranges, lush valleys cut by rushing rivers, tundra, dense forests, and glaciers.  Its most stunning feature is the highest mountain in the United States – Denali – with a summit elevation of  20,310 feet.  Because of the extreme height of the mountain and due to Alaskan climate, sightseers looking to view Denali’s peak are usually disappointed as it is often shrouded in clouds.  The best chance you have of seeing the peak of this majestic mountain is to “flightsee.”

Your flight is on a twin engine plane, flown by knowledgeable pilots who have long experience with conditions in the park.  The 60 -70 minute flight of over 200 miles begins at the eastern edge of the park, catching ridge line views of the Polychrome Mountains and the Toklat River basin.  Other highlights include views of the Wickersham Wall, and close up observation of the Traleika, Brook & Muldrow glaciers.  You will also see the Ruth Amphitheater, Great Gorge, and other mountains in the Alaska Range – Foraker, Russell and Hunter.  If the weather cooperates, you will circle within ½ mile of Denali itself, allowing views of all of its breathtaking features.

Alaska has a lot to offer visitors.  The variety of wildlife, hunting and sports adventures, and the stunning beauty of its scenery are unique.  Take a flightseeing trip to really get the big picture of the Alaskan wilderness.  Can I help you plan an Alaskan experience you won’t forget?
