A cruise to Antarctica, one of the last unspoiled, remote regions of the world, is a voyage that most would love to experience.  The Silversea Silver Explorer is a cruise ship that will take you on this magical 18 day journey with your complete safety and comfort in mind.  The ship accommodates less than 150 passengers – this number nearly matched by the number of crew members, ensuring excellent personal service. The accommodations are spacious, 80% of the suites include a verandah.  There are several dining venues, all offering exceptional cuisine and a well equipped spa and fitness center.

The voyage begins in Ushuaia, Argentina and crosses through the Drake Passage before making its first stop in the Falkland Islands.  Three days in the Falklands will give you a chance for shore excursions with Silversea’s experienced guides, hiking and exploring by Zodiac or kayak to encounter sea birds, penguins (LOTS of penguins), whales and dolphins.

Your next stop in South Georgia, a former whaling center, is also the site of Shackleton’s rescue from his Antarctic expedition in 1916.

Continuing to Antarctica, you’ll have 5 days to explore the glaciers and icebergs in this remarkable, pristine landscape, hiking and kayaking among the penguins and seals that thrive in this harsh environment.

Your return to Ushuaia gives you a chance to appreciate a different landscape.  The Argentinean National Park Tierra del Fuego is part of an archipelago off the southern tip of South America, and Ushuaia is a popular resort town – a definite contrast to the stark isolation of the environment you’ve enjoyed on your cruise.

You can follow in Shackleton’s footsteps, with none of the hardships, danger, and deprivation!  Please give me a call for more information.
