My interests are many but one of my first loves in traveling is cruising. I have been on more than 40 cruises all over the world including river cruising and trans-Atlantic crossing. I hold two certificates with Cruise Lines International Associat...

I’m passionate about cruising, all right -- I’ve been on over 50 of them!  Cruising is unique because it offers you the opportunity to visit and experience several ports of call, a wide variety of restaurants and bars, nightly entertainment, and sports activities all within the confines of your cruise ship.

Here are some of my “tips and tricks” for first time cruisers as well as those who cruise often...

  • Don’t overpack -- stick to comfortable clothing that will coordinate with other clothing items and can be switched up for different outfits.  Flip flops, sports shoes and one pair of dress shoes in a neutral color is all that you’ll need.

  • Try to arrive in port the day before your cruise.  This will eliminate a lot of stress if your airline flight is delayed.  Check to see which hotel in your departure city offers shuttle service to the cruise port and take advantage of it.

  • Once on board, check out all the amenities offered -- spa services, entertainment venues, restaurants, shore excursion options and special events.  Make a plan so you’re able to make the most of your vacation.

  • Planning to book spa appointments?  A money saving tip is to book spa treatments on the days when the ship is in port, and many of the passengers will be taking shore excursions.  Result?  Spa services are often offered at a discount.

  • Rely on a cruise advisor who has your best interest at heart and who knows your preferences for travel and can pair you up with a cruise line that is right for you.

I would love to be that advisor for you!
