My interests are many but one of my first loves in traveling is cruising. I have been on more than 40 cruises all over the world including river cruising and trans-Atlantic crossing. I hold two certificates with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), both the Accredited Cruise Counselor (ACC) and the Master Cruise Counselor (MCC). I have also completed the Princess Cruise Line and Cunard Cruise Line specialist programs achieving the rank of Commodore in both. Cruise lines I have sailed on include: Cunard, Princess, Celebrity, Holland America, Carnival, Norwegian, Regent, Orient, Viking River, Windstar Cruises, Majestic (American Queen). And on these lines I have enjoyed, the Caribbean, Mexico, Panama Canal, South America, Alaska, Mediterranean, Baltic, Amstel River and the mighty Mississippi to name a few. My interest in travel doesn’t stop there. I have traveled all over Europe and especially enjoyed rail travel from Paris to Venice. From Iceland to Italy and destinations in between, I can’t say there is a place I wouldn’t recommend! I have also traveled to all four major islands in Hawaii, Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. Of all the beaches I have visited around the world I think Hawaii holds the prettiest. And of course, no passport is required! Another travel favorite would be Asia. My first trip to Singapore left me wanting more. I have since returned to Beijing and Hong Kong. Most recently I traveled to Bangkok and Chaing Mai. In Chaing Mai I had the opportunity to visit the elephant camp featured on Animal Planet and see the little elephant, Hang. She creates her own unguided art and has won international acclaim as an artist! For history, art, and value for your dollar, you can’t beat the Asian destinations. I entered this profession with a passion for travel and would enjoy being your personal travel fairy making your travel dreams come true!

Croatia is an enchanting destination that combines breathtaking scenery, rich history, and exceptional culinary experiences. Whether you’re a history buff, a foodie, or simply a lover of natural beauty, Croatia has something for everyone. Here are some highlights from my recent trip to Croatia.
A Warm Welcome
One of the first things you’ll notice is how welcoming the locals are. Croatians speak excellent English and have a genuine fondness for Americans. This makes exploring the country’s many wonders effortless and enjoyable.
The Land of Islands
Croatia’s coastline has over 1,200 islands, only 62 are inhabited. Each island offers its own charm, from secluded beaches and bustling ports. The crystal-clear waters and volcanic origins make this a paradise for beach lovers and adventurers.
Walking Through History
Dubrovnik, the famed walled city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, transports you back in time. Fans of Game of Thrones will recognize it as the setting for King’s Landing … I sat on the Iron Throne! Walking the walls and cobblestone streets is an unforgettable experience. I racked up over 20,000 steps daily exploring the city’s treasures.
Gourmet Dining
Croatia is a haven for food lovers, with gourmet restaurants lining the seaport areas and beyond. The al fresco dining options are unmatched, offering stunning views and impeccable cuisine. One standout experience was a cooking class at Konoba Mrs. & Mr. Caput. Using a woodfire and iron dome, we prepared veal and vegetables. Covered with embers, the dishes cooked to perfection and had tremendous flavor. Fresh seafood is a staple here, and I had the unique opportunity to farm oysters directly from the water and savor them steamed right on the fisherman’s boat.
Unique Experiences
Croatia offers many one-of-a-kind experiences:
- Salt Ponds: You can witness the traditional harvesting of ocean salt.
- Gin Distillery: Learn to make your own gin, bottle it, and take it home as a souvenir.
- Historic Mills: Visit water-powered mills still creating fabrics using ancient techniques.
Natural Beauty
With its small shoreline framed by the towering continuation of the Alps, Croatia’s landscape is nothing short of spectacular. Olive groves, lemon trees, and vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see, creating picture-perfect scenery.
A Climate for Comfort
In October, Croatia enjoys balmy temperatures in the 80s, making it the perfect destination for fall travel. You’ll avoid the summer crowds while still soaking up the sun.
Well-Preserved Heritage
Croatia’s strict real estate laws ensure that its historic charm remains intact. The country is a living museum, blending ancient traditions with modern luxury. There is very little real estate available to purchase and property is passed down and kept within the family.
If Croatia isn’t on your travel list yet…ADD IT NOW. With its friendly locals, rich culture, and unforgettable experiences, this Adriatic gem is a destination you’ll want to return to again and again.
