When I go on vacation, I like to make sure that all details are taken care of (flights, hotels, transfers, sightseeing) yet also want to have some free time to explore whatever I might be interested in doing that day. I know most of my clients als...

The Riviera Maya boasts many archeological sites that are popular with tourists, but none is more visited than the ruins at Tulum.  It is located about half an hour south of Playa del Carmen – a little more than an hour from Cancun.  It was originally built as a fortress as its name suggests – Tulum means “wall” and the ruins are walled on three sides, with the fourth facing the Caribbean Sea.

The ruins are crowned by El Castillo (castle) which overlooks the white sands below and offers magnificent views of the shoreline.

Xel-Ha Park is a large, family friendly attraction that encompasses a jungle-like zoo and all sorts of water adventures.  Snorkeling is one of the most popular attractions, but there is also ziplining (a ride through the trees and ending in the ocean), a thrilling waterslide, and a lazy river.  It is also an eco-park with nature trails along jungle paths and hidden coves and cenotes to explore.  The scenic Mirador Lighthouse offers 360 degree views of the ocean and the surrounding Riviera Maya area.  All-inclusive passes that even include some meals are an economical way for your family to enjoy this beautiful area with activities that will keep everyone entertained.
