We recently sailed in the Caribbean with Princess Cruises. We began in Roatan, an island that offered a glimpse into the third-world paradise. Our experience here centered around a brewery tour originating from Chicago. Beyond the delightful taste of food and beer, the tour was a rich educational experience, immersing us in the island's history and culture. Roatan's warm hospitality and cultural richness left a lasting impression, making it a memorable first stop.

Belize was the next port. It captivated us with its blend of lush tropical landscapes and ancient ruins. The highlight was a snorkel tour that allowed us to explore the vibrant underwater world and clear blue water. You may want to visit the butterfly sanctuary or check out the remnants of ancient civilizations which really paints a picture of nature's beauty and historical richness.

Costa Maya is famous for the Bacalar Lagoon, touted as one of the seven wonders of the world. The excursion to this pristine lagoon, with its seven shades of blue, is a serene escape into nature's wonders. Unfortunately, we ran into some weather and were not able to experience this but it comes highly recommended. We enjoyed checking out the beautiful view on foot during our stop.

Our final port of call was Cozumel. You must head downtown for the lively atmosphere. The narrow streets offer plenty of great bars and live music. We found ourselves enjoying the company of the locals, savoring tropical drinks and enjoying the authentic culture near the town square. Cozumel's downtown became a perfect blend of local charm, music, and the island's warm spirit.
