After a short 4-hour flight out of Minneapolis you will arrive in beautiful, Puerto Vallarta - a resort town on Mexico’s Pacific coast, in the State of Jalisco.

Nestled beneath the stunning backdrop of the Sierra Madre mountains, it boasts spectacular beaches, water sports, marine life and (with the same latitude as Hawaii) a tropical climate year-round.

If you are looking for whale-watching, plan your visit between December and March. Other activities include:  Sailing, ATV tours, Zip Lining, Swimming with the Dolphins, Sunset Cruises and more.  For nature lovers, I’d suggest Los Arcos National Marine Park in the Bay of Banderas.  From turtles and octopuses, to dolphins and different kinds of fish, you will not be disappointed.   Puerto Vallarta is also a perfect getaway for weddings and honeymoons, families, eco-adventure lovers and seniors.

A short cab ride to the Malecon (“Boardwalk”) provides a nice place to visit.  This pathway is one mile long and loaded with shops and outdoor vendors, bars and restaurants.  You’ll stroll past statues, seaside artists, flowering shrubs and live street performances.  This is a wonderful place to people-watch, to listen to the waves or to take in a magnificent sunset as it sits directly on the oceanside. The atmosphere is relaxing since it is only for pedestrians and bicycles.

I love Puerto Vallarta and will be returning again in February of 2022.  In the meantime, I would be happy to help you plan your next adventure for your own stroll on the oceanside promenade.
