I fell so in love with Mexico that I decided to move there for nearly five months. I stayed in Puerto Peñasco with my dog Teddy Bear in a condo minutes from the beach and city center. I worked as a bartender at a beach resort where I had the opportunity to meet endless travelers and bonded with the local staff.
The food scene was fantastic and seeing the fisherman in action and then watching the fresh dishes come to life at the resort was quite the experience. My favorite thing to eat was oysters. Be sure to have them at Wrecked at the Reef when visiting Puerto Peñasco aka Rocky Point.
If you are a golfer be sure to make a tee time at The Links at Las Palomas Beach & Golf Resort. Visit the Malecon for lunch and shopping during the day and music and entertainment at night.
When you are ready to head south of the border let's plan your magical stay in Mexico!

We wandered through the ruins of the ancient Roman Empire's political heart, while our local guide peeled back the layers of history & reconstructed the past. From the assassinations at the Forum to the bloody battles in the Colosseum, we learned how the roots of Western culture started here.
The Colosseum was a place of entertainment for the locals of Rome. While the entertainment back then is much different than modern day, it's quite interesting to go see and hear about what took place within the center of this monumental Roman architecture. The Colosseum has played a significant role in Roman history. It was a symbol of the power and wealth of the Roman Empire, as well as a means to entertain and control the population. The games held at the Colosseum were often politically motivated, serving to gain favor with the people and demonstrate imperial power.
Watch your bags though, this place is very crowded and known for pick pocketing. While you can go and explore this area on your own, getting a local guide to tour you around and explain the history is the way to go. Wear comfortable shoes! A lot of the ground is uneven and there is a lot of going up & down stairs.
Visiting the Colosseum allows you to explore the grandeur of ancient Rome and gain insights into the gladiatorial games and spectacles that took place there. The site also includes a museum that showcases artifacts and exhibits related to the history of the Colosseum and the Roman Empire.
