Amsterdam, The Netherlands

The Viking Cruise Line has recently added a unique 8 day cruise of the Low Countries (Holland and Belgium) to its collection of European cruises.  Taking this cruise in the spring (mid-March through mid-May) gives you the opportunity to see the countryside in full bloom -- the vibrant colors of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and crocus providing an unparalleled landscape that will delight photographers and nature lovers.

The cruise begins in Amsterdam, a cosmopolitan city known for its interlacing canals, world famous museums, and bikers everywhere!  The Keukenhof Castle Gardens is a park close to Amsterdam where over 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually.  The tulip gardens are especially impressive during the tulip festival in the spring.  Other times of year you can enjoy sculpture and artwork that are an additional incentive to visit.

From Amsterdam you’ll cruise through inland waterways and rivers, stopping in Dordrecht (the oldest city in Holland) and Kinderkijk with its famous windmills.  Other ports of call along the way to Antwerp provide insight into Dutch, Flemish, and German cultures which all flourish to this day.  The cruise ends in Antwerp, Belgium, the diamond capital of Europe and home to the beautiful Cathedral of our Lady.  The many outdoor cafes and beer gardens will entice  you to relax with your new friends and shipmates and relive the special moments of this cruise.

Let me answer any questions you may have about this cruise or any other Viking European Cruise.
