Rome Aerial

This small-group walking tour is led by knowledgeable local guides, who know Rome like the back of their hands, and who are experts in its history, art and culture.

You’ll get a real feel for this ancient civilization, which laid the groundwork for democracy in our modern world. You’ll walk through Centro Storico, with its quaint cobblestone alleyways on your way to magnificent squares and piazzas, surrounded by unique shops and inviting trattorias, where you can sample classic Italian treats – pizza like nothing you’ve ever tasted, gelato and, of course, wine!

You’ll want to browse along the many shops located on the Spanish Steps and toss a coin into the famous Trevi Fountain. Legend has it that if you do so, you will come back to Rome someday.  You’ll visit the beautifully preserved Pantheon, built as a tribute to Rome's pagan gods and the burial place for the famous artist, Raphael.  Those interested in history will enjoy the visit to the Piazza Colonna and the Italian Parliament.

Italian masterpieces of art are everywhere in Rome – if Holy Mass is not being held, the tour will visit San Luigi dei' Francesi, an impressive church housing 3 original works of art by Caravaggio.

The Piazza Navona is everyone’s mental picture of what an Italian piazza should be – encompassing three gorgeous fountains that will make wonderful backdrops for photos.  And you won’t want to miss the Roman Ghetto, a hidden gem often overlooked by tourists, but rich in history and home to delightful family-owned delicatessens.

The city hall building, Il Campidoglio, is located in the Capitol Hill Square and was designed by Michelangelo. The Roman Forum Mile, leading to the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, is the conclusion of the walking tour  but just the beginning of your visit to Rome, as you’ll now have the inside “scoop” on how to spend the remainder of your time there wisely – knowing where to go and what to see that will align with your individual interests.

If a trip to Italy is on your radar, you don’t want to miss Rome!  Let me help you plan a trip that will be truly “meraviglioso!”
