I've had the pleasure of traveling to both of these beautiful European countries. I highly suggest that you make a trip to both, but if you are deciding between that two let me share with you my personal experience.
France
There are endless iconic sites and history in France even more so than Spain —a stop for a photo at the Eiffel Tower is a MUST. If you are a "fashionista" than France should be on the top of your list. Culture, people fashion, food
There are beautiful castles in France and the architecture is exquisite. In France they are set up for tourism which makes it easy to navigate. There are many beautiful château accommodations to stay in with gorgeous mountainous scenery.
If you love wine and food you won't be disappointed in France. The pastries were my personal favorite.
Believe it or not there is also great surfing in France. I would suggest stay in if surfing is more your speed.
Spain
Spain is a very welcoming country much more so than France. They are well versed in English. The Pousada is the ideal location and offer luxurious accommodations. The mountains of Spain are simply breathtaking. If you are a lover of olives be sure to head to southern Spain.
For my foodie friends the Tapas are a must. The cuisine in Spain is delightful and as for the wine don't miss out tasting the temperanillo and fresh sangria.
The Coast del Sol is known for beaches. Their beaches can be a bit rocky but offer breathtaking view you won't want to miss.
You can't go wrong visiting either of these countries.
