Last Spring I had the fortune to experience a "Taste of Ireland" on a CIE Tours guided vacation! I thought I wasn't old enough to take a guided vacation but was I ever wrong! Pat our guide/driver added wonderful commentary about the sights we saw outside our deluxe motor-coach traveling through the countryside of southwest Ireland! Every stop on our itinerary whether it was Blarney Castle or Cliffs of Mohr all entrance fees were included! Wonderful city center hotels in Dublin and Killarney! The first night the group went to hear The Merry Ploughboys which was a great introduction to Ireland's food, music and dancing! I did keep my independence in tact by renting a car (automatic) and traveling The North! Spectacular scenery at Giant's Causeway and the weather was so lovely even golfed 9 holes along the sea! Great visit to Belfast where besides touring Titanic Belfast had lunch with my mother's cousin! Driving on the left is a challenge but with the right navigator no problems at all. We did miss Pat the guide to describe what we were seeing as we flew by! My last visit to Ireland was in 1985 and was happy to know that the country and it's people are as charming and welcoming as ever! .
