I recently toured Croatia along the Adriatic. There were endless picturesque views, historical towns, and delicious cuisine.
The first stop on our journey was Split. I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness. It was very easy to get around and perfect for exploring on foot. The city is located right on the sea, providing beautiful waterfront views and a vibrant atmosphere. You must consider a day trip to Krka National Park, just a short 1-hour drive away. There you will find stunning waterfalls and enjoy nature at its finest.
The coastal road along the Adriatic from Split to Dubrovnik is renowned for its scenic beauty. Throughout the drive there is breathtaking views of the coastline and the sea. There is a new bridge that eliminated the need for border crossings, making the journey smoother and more convenient.
Dubrovnik's old town is a must-visit, with its historic charm and intriguing architecture. You may want to consider a guided tour to learn about its rich history. For a unique experience, visit the "Bar," a hole in the wall where you can climb through and hang over the Adriatic Sea. Don't miss trying Cevapi, a popular sausage and national dish in Dubrovnik.
Thon is a small town located about an hour outside Dubrovnik, situated in a wine region. I enjoyed a traditional dish of black ink risotto, a local specialty that you would certainly enjoy.
We also headed to Montenegro to witness the stunning fjords. There were some fabulous views If the timing is right, make a stop in Amsterdam to see the tulips. The Netherlands are famous for their colorful tulip fields, especially during the spring time.
If this sounds like the trip for you, let’s get started planning!
