New Zealand

In all my years as a Travel Professional, I’ve asked countless people, “What’s on your must-see list?” And without fail, New Zealand is always at the top! Honestly, who wouldn’t want to experience this majestic ...

I always like to ask my clients, "Would you prefer a Family-Friendly Resort or an Adults-Only Resort?" A common response is, "It doesn’t really matter, but I’m not sure what the difference is." Since I hear this quite often, I thought it would be helpful to share some insights on the topic.

When people hear "Adults-Only," they sometimes picture swingers or nudist resorts. While those options do exist for those interested, the standard Adults-Only resorts are simply resorts for adults—no kids allowed. This is where having a travel advisor like me can make all the difference in ensuring you pick the resort that’s the best fit for your needs.

In my personal travels, my husband and I often gravitate toward Adults-Only resorts. They tend to feel more relaxing—less chaotic without kids running around, demanding smoothies at the pool bar, making cannonballs, or crying during dinner. Even the entertainment is geared toward an adult audience, which is a nice change from the kid-friendly shows you might see at family resorts.

I often hear clients say, "I really like kids, but on vacation, I just don’t want to deal with them running around." I totally get it—I'm the same way. There’s a reason that year after year, more Adults-Only resorts are popping up—they've really gained in popularity. On the other hand, I’ve worked with couples who love the lively atmosphere and energy of a family-friendly resort.

It’s great that we now have the option to choose between Family-Friendly and Adults-Only resorts, depending on the kind of experience we’re looking for. And that’s where I come in—I can help you figure out which type of resort is the best fit for you and your specific needs.
