New Zealand
In all my years as a Travel Professional, I’ve asked countless people, “What’s on your must-see list?” And without fail, New Zealand is always at the top! Honestly, who wouldn’t want to experience this majestic part of the world?
I was fortunate enough to visit both the North and South Islands, and what I love about New Zealand is that it offers the perfect blend of laid-back charm and action-packed adventure, all while being nothing short of epic.
The country is home to endless national parks, a rich Maori culture, and unforgettable experiences like sailing through the sounds while dolphins playfully follow your yacht. And let’s not forget the awe-inspiring moment of witnessing a sperm whale off the coast of Kaikoura—talk about jaw-dropping beauty!
Oh, and did I mention wine? If you’re a fan of great wine (and who isn’t?), New Zealand is a must-visit for its world-class Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and more. How do I know? Because I couldn’t resist visiting a winery or two during my travels!
Honestly, I could go on and on about the magic of New Zealand, but if you’re reading this, you already know you want to explore this incredible part of the world. Let’s work together to create your perfect New Zealand adventure!
Australia
Let me start by saying, I’ve wanted to visit Australia since I was a child. Why, you ask? Well, to pet a kangaroo, of course! And yes, I did! Not only did I pet a kangaroo, but I actually fed FOUR at the same time. Childhood dream come true, right? And I can’t wait to go back for round two.
While I was in Sydney, I had the chance to experience the spectacular Vivid Sydney Festival, celebrating its 10th year. It was honestly WOW! Never in my wildest dreams did I think Australia would be so perfect to visit during their winter season. But coming from Minnesota, their “winter” felt more like our fall—absolutely ideal! Seeing the Sydney Opera House light up during the festival was something I’ll never forget.
And then there’s the Blue Mountains region—so lovely to explore on foot. From there, we ventured to Hunter Valley (known to the locals as "The Hunter"), where wine flowed freely, and every glass was more delicious than the last.
Australia’s size is truly hard to grasp until you’ve experienced it firsthand. To put it in perspective: Sydney would be in Florida, Cairns (home of the Great Barrier Reef) would be in Maine, Uluru (Ayers Rock) would be in Kansas, Melbourne would be in New Orleans, and Perth would be in Los Angeles.
Whether you're dreaming of visiting the world’s largest Great Barrier Reef, immersing yourself in Aboriginal culture, swimming with whale sharks, or gazing upon the majestic Uluru, Australia has endless possibilities waiting for you.
Let’s make your dream trip to Australia a reality—one that you’ll remember for the rest of your life!

There are many gay-friendly places to travel around the world, but today I want to talk about some incredible honeymoon spots you might want to consider for your once-in-a-lifetime getaway!
Here are a few of my top destination picks, with some quick highlights:
French Polynesia
Simply jaw-dropping gorgeous! Who wouldn't want to consider these stunning islands for their honeymoon? With epic sunsets and an incredibly romantic vibe, it’s one of the most memorable places I’ve ever experienced. From fresh seafood and endless wine (hey, it’s French, after all) to thrilling adventure options and the chance to stay in the original overwater bungalows, there are several island choices that could fit your travel style. Together, we’ll navigate to find your perfect itinerary.
Greece
The top gay-friendly island is Mykonos, famous for its vibrant gay bars, clubs, and welcoming beaches and hotels. Then there’s Santorini, the second most gay-friendly island, which draws honeymooners from all over the world. Looking for something more low-key? Consider Paros, Skiathos, or Antiparos—lesser-known but perfect for a relaxed, crowd-free experience.
Curaçao
One of the most welcoming Caribbean islands for gay travelers, Curaçao’s “Live and Let Live” motto really reflects its easygoing nature. Willemstad is a beautifully authentic city, known for its rainbow-colored buildings and rich history. You’ll also find uncrowded beaches and incredible snorkeling and diving opportunities. It’s a fantastic choice for couples who want both relaxation and adventure.
Aruba
While not all Caribbean islands are known for being gay-friendly, Aruba is definitely an exception. With endless culinary options, unique architecture, and warm, friendly locals, this island is a standout honeymoon destination for any couple.
Mexico
Mexico has long been a country that welcomes LGBTQ travelers with open arms! Some of the top honeymoon-worthy spots include:
- Puerto Vallarta / Punta Mita
- Cabo San Lucas / Los Cabos
- Riviera Maya / Cancun
- Acapulco
Each destination has its own vibe, and together, we can figure out which one is the best fit for your honeymoon style.
Hawaiian Islands
Hawaii offers spectacular scenery—cliffs, waterfalls, rainforests, and beaches—along with endless opportunities for both adventure and downtime. With year-round perfect weather, it’s no surprise that so many people choose Hawaii for their honeymoon or anniversary. One day, you’ll see why!
Paris
Paris has embraced the LGBTQ+ community for over a century. The Marais is the most famous gay-friendly district, but it’s far from the only one. With world-class art, architecture, and that classic Parisian romance, it’s a city perfect for couples who want more than just a beach honeymoon. It’s a must-visit, plain and simple.
Thailand
Oh, Thailand—what a fabulous choice. Popular gay-friendly areas include Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Pattaya, and Krabi. Whether you’re into nightlife, nature, beach time, or culture, Thailand really has it all. It could be the perfect place to create those once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon memories.
New Zealand
If you're into nature, this should be high on your list. With its warm, friendly locals, breathtaking landscapes, and cool cities, New Zealand is equal parts adventure and relaxation. And if you love wine? Their smaller-scale production means high quality and amazing local flavors. Let’s build the perfect itinerary just for you.
Cape Town, South Africa
Cape Town has a thriving gay culture, with the De Waterkant district at the heart of it all. There’s a great mix of nightlife and scenic beauty here. One quick tip: no matter your gender or orientation, it’s best to avoid overt displays of affection out of respect for local customs. That said, it’s still an incredible destination with a lot to offer.
Sydney, Australia
Much like New Zealand, Australia is incredibly welcoming. Sydney is especially popular, and for good reason. From the Opera House and Darling Harbour to vibrant nightlife and the world-famous Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras, there’s no shortage of things to see and do. Whether you're visiting for the culture or just looking to unwind, Sydney delivers.
While there are many places around the world that welcome LGBTQ travelers with open arms, these are just a few of the most popular and memorable honeymoon spots. I’d love to help you plan a trip that reflects who you are and what you love as a couple.
Let’s start planning your dream honeymoon—together.
