New Zealand
In all my years as a Travel Professional, I’ve asked countless people, “What’s on your must-see list?” And without fail, New Zealand is always at the top! Honestly, who wouldn’t want to experience this majestic part of the world?
I was fortunate enough to visit both the North and South Islands, and what I love about New Zealand is that it offers the perfect blend of laid-back charm and action-packed adventure, all while being nothing short of epic.
The country is home to endless national parks, a rich Maori culture, and unforgettable experiences like sailing through the sounds while dolphins playfully follow your yacht. And let’s not forget the awe-inspiring moment of witnessing a sperm whale off the coast of Kaikoura—talk about jaw-dropping beauty!
Oh, and did I mention wine? If you’re a fan of great wine (and who isn’t?), New Zealand is a must-visit for its world-class Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and more. How do I know? Because I couldn’t resist visiting a winery or two during my travels!
Honestly, I could go on and on about the magic of New Zealand, but if you’re reading this, you already know you want to explore this incredible part of the world. Let’s work together to create your perfect New Zealand adventure!
Australia
Let me start by saying, I’ve wanted to visit Australia since I was a child. Why, you ask? Well, to pet a kangaroo, of course! And yes, I did! Not only did I pet a kangaroo, but I actually fed FOUR at the same time. Childhood dream come true, right? And I can’t wait to go back for round two.
While I was in Sydney, I had the chance to experience the spectacular Vivid Sydney Festival, celebrating its 10th year. It was honestly WOW! Never in my wildest dreams did I think Australia would be so perfect to visit during their winter season. But coming from Minnesota, their “winter” felt more like our fall—absolutely ideal! Seeing the Sydney Opera House light up during the festival was something I’ll never forget.
And then there’s the Blue Mountains region—so lovely to explore on foot. From there, we ventured to Hunter Valley (known to the locals as "The Hunter"), where wine flowed freely, and every glass was more delicious than the last.
Australia’s size is truly hard to grasp until you’ve experienced it firsthand. To put it in perspective: Sydney would be in Florida, Cairns (home of the Great Barrier Reef) would be in Maine, Uluru (Ayers Rock) would be in Kansas, Melbourne would be in New Orleans, and Perth would be in Los Angeles.
Whether you're dreaming of visiting the world’s largest Great Barrier Reef, immersing yourself in Aboriginal culture, swimming with whale sharks, or gazing upon the majestic Uluru, Australia has endless possibilities waiting for you.
Let’s make your dream trip to Australia a reality—one that you’ll remember for the rest of your life!

There are many gay-friendly places to travel around the world, but today I want to talk about some incredible honeymoon spots you might want to consider for your once-in-a-lifetime getaway!
Here are a few of my top destination picks, with some quick highlights:
French Polynesia: Simply jaw-dropping gorgeous! Who wouldn't want to consider these stunning islands for their honeymoon? With epic sunsets and an incredibly romantic vibe, it's one of the most memorable places I’ve ever experienced. From fresh seafood and endless wine (hey, it’s French, after all) to thrilling adventure options and the chance to stay in the original overwater bungalows, you’ll find several island choices that could fit your travel style. Together, we’ll navigate to find your perfect itinerary.
Greece: The top gay-friendly island is Mykonos, famous for its vibrant gay bars, clubs, and gay-friendly beaches and hotels. Then there’s Santorini, the second most gay-friendly island, which draws honeymooners from all over. Other gay-friendly islands include Paros, Skiathos, and Antiparos. These lesser-known islands offer a more laid-back experience, away from the tourist crowds, and are perfect for a more relaxed honeymoon.
Curaçao: One of the most welcoming Caribbean islands for gay travelers, Curaçao’s "Live and Let Live" motto really speaks to its easygoing nature. Willemstad is a beautifully authentic city, known for its rainbow-colored buildings and rich history. You’ll also find uncrowded beaches and incredible dive/snorkel opportunities here. It's a fantastic choice for couples seeking both relaxation and adventure.
Aruba: While not all Caribbean islands are known for being gay-friendly, Aruba is an exception. With its endless culinary options, stunning architecture, and warm, friendly locals, this island is an amazing honeymoon destination for any couple.
Mexico: Mexico has long been a country that welcomes LGBTQ travelers with open arms! Some of the top spots to consider include Cabo San Lucas/Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta/Punta Mita, Acapulco, and the Riviera Maya/Cancun area. Each destination has its own unique vibe, and together, we can figure out which one is the perfect fit for your honeymoon.
Hawaiian Islands: Hawaii offers spectacular scenery—think cliffs, mountains, waterfalls, and rainforests—along with endless opportunities for both relaxation and adventure. With its perfect year-round temperatures, it’s an ideal honeymoon destination. There’s a reason so many people choose Hawaii for their honeymoon or anniversary trip—one day, you’ll see why!
Paris: For over a century, Paris has been embracing the gay community. The Marais district is the city's favorite "gayborhood," but it’s not the only one worth visiting. Paris is a city rich in history and beauty, perfect for those looking for more than just romance. It's a must-visit for any honeymoon!
Thailand: Oh, Thailand—what a fabulous choice! The country boasts many popular gay-friendly areas, such as Phuket, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, Koh Kut, Pattaya, and Krabi. Whether you're seeking nightlife, stunning beaches, nature, or adventure, Thailand has it all. It could be the perfect place to capture the essence of your honeymoon.
New Zealand: Love nature? This should definitely be on your list for the honeymoon of a lifetime! From the incredibly friendly Kiwis to the natural beauty, not to mention the cosmopolitan cities, New Zealand is a dream destination. Oh, and if you love wine, they may not be the biggest producer, but their offerings are absolutely delicious. Together, we can create the perfect New Zealand itinerary!
Cape Town, South Africa: Cape Town is home to a vibrant gay culture, with De Waterkant being the heart of it all. It’s filled with a variety of clubs and bars, making it an exciting destination for any honeymoon. A word of advice for all travelers: regardless of gender or sexual orientation, it’s best to avoid overt displays of affection to respect local customs and avoid offending others.
Sydney, Australia: Much like New Zealand, Australia is incredibly welcoming. Sydney, in particular, is a must-visit city, and that goes for travelers of all sexual orientations. From the stunning Opera House to Darling Harbour, pub crawls through the various bars and nightclubs, or a visit to Taronga Zoo, there’s so much to do. Sydney also hosts the two-week-long Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras, which is a cultural and entertainment festival you won’t want to miss.
While there are MANY places around the world that warmly welcome LGBTQ travelers, these are just some of the most popular choices. I look forward to working with you to create the honeymoon you’ve always dreamed of!
