New Zealand

In all my years as a Travel Professional, I’ve asked countless people, “What’s on your must-see list?” And without fail, New Zealand is always at the top! Honestly, who wouldn’t want to experience this majestic ...

The moment I saw photos of Nayara Hotel, I was in love—I just knew I had to stay there someday. It took a few years, but when we finally made the trip, it was even more amazing than I had imagined. After so many years in the travel industry, it takes a lot to impress me… and Nayara exceeded every expectation. The moment we arrived, our jaws dropped. WOW.

Nayara is actually made up of three sister properties: Nayara Gardens (family-friendly), Nayara Springs (adults-only), and Nayara Tented Camp. While the properties aren't directly adjacent, they are very close to each other and seamlessly connected, offering a smooth and elevated experience across all three unique resorts. Nestled in the heart of the rainforest, each one brings its own charm, but together they create something truly special.

The walk to our room was pure magic—lush, tropical, and simply divine. When we were shown to our suite at Nayara Gardens, I could hardly believe this was going to be “home” for the next few nights. The room design was so unique, and our view of Arenal Volcano and the surrounding rainforest was absolutely breathtaking. I never wanted to shut the curtains!

This isn’t your typical glitzy, modern resort like you’ll find in parts of Mexico or the Caribbean. Nayara has a boutique feel—quaint, cozy, warm, and full of character. It feels incredibly special and intimate, like a hidden gem tucked deep in the jungle.

The restaurant at Nayara was equally unforgettable. My boyfriend loved it so much, he still talks about it! The food was delicious, the atmosphere relaxed, and the ambiance one-of-a-kind. You can sit back, enjoy a great meal with live music, and completely unwind. These are the kinds of travel moments that stick with you for years.

While in Arenal, we soaked up every adventure. We went zip lining (Costa Rica’s is truly next-level!), hiked around Arenal, and spent time relaxing in the Tabacon Hot Springs, which were both scenic and soothing.

If you're looking to experience more of the local flavor, make sure to spend some time in La Fortuna Town. The staff at Nayara were incredibly helpful with suggestions and pointed us to some great local favorites. And one little thing I can’t forget to mention: the pineapple in Costa Rica was honestly some of the best we’ve ever had—sweet, fresh, and unforgettable.

To sum it up, Nayara is a luxurious resort that blends beautifully with nature. It’s elegant without being overdone—tastefully decorated, warm, and welcoming. We loved our stay so much that we’ve already decided to return and experience the Springs Villa next time.

If you’re dreaming of a trip where you can truly embrace Pura Vida—Costa Rica’s unofficial motto for “pure life”—I can’t recommend Nayara Hotel enough. I’d love to help you decide if it’s the perfect fit for your Costa Rican adventure!
