New Zealand
In all my years as a Travel Professional, with curiosity I've asked several the question "What are your must see countries?" I was hard pressed to find one that did not list New Zealand! I mean who wouldn't want to experience this majestic part of the world?
Recently I was able to explore several areas of this amazing country, being fortunate in visiting both the North & South Island. What I love is New Zealand can be mellow or action-packed, yet it will still always be epic!
From the endless national parks, dynamic Maori culture, to experiencing the sounds aboard a yacht while gazing upon dolphins. And let’s not forget about laying witness to the majestic beauty of a sperm whale off the coast of Kaikoura.
Wait, did you say you enjoy wine? They have some of THE best in the world....how do I know? Because how could I go all the way to New Zealand and not visit a winery or two. New Zealand offers the deliciousness of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnays, Pinot Noir, Merlot and many more!
I really could go on and on, but no need if you're reading this you already KNOW you want to explore this part of the world. I would love to help you create the best version of New Zealand for you!
Australia
Let me start by saying, I have been wanting to go to Australia since I was a child. Why you ask? Well to pet a kangaroo of course! And I did! Not only did I pet kangaroos, but I fed 4 simultaneously! It was a childhood dream come true, and I cannot wait to go back and repeat the experience.
I was in Sydney during the spectacular International lights and music festival, Vivid Sydney. It was their 10th year, and all I've got to say is WOW! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought Australia would be so perfect to visit during their winter season. Although being from Minnesota it was more like our fall temperatures. So again, perfect! It was extra special to experience VIVID Sydney and see the iconic Sydney Opera House light up. If you travel during this time of year, it truly is a must see.
The Blue Mountains region of Australia was truly lovely to walk amongst. Then headed to Hunter Valley (to locals known as "The Hunter") where wine in this region was flowing plentifully and was quite delicious!
After making a visit to Australia I now understand why many choose to go there for 2 - 4 weeks on a vacation. It's truly hard to grasp the sheer size of Australia until you have been there yourself. To give you an idea, think about the USA. Sydney would be in Florida; Cairns (Great Barrier Reef) would be in Maine; Uluru (Ayers Rock) would be in Kansas; Melbourne would be New Orleans; and Perth would be Los Angeles.
If you're looking to visit the world's largest Great Barrier Reef, immerse yourself in Aboriginal communities, swim with whale sharks or gaze upon the Uluru (Ayers Rock) the possibilities really are endless in Australia!
Together we'll create your dream trip to Australia that you'll remember for the rest of your days!

Mom & I at MISTIK Show at Iberostar Grand Paraiso
I've been in the industry for 25 yrs. thus far and the Iberostar Paraíso Grand Riviera Maya has been a top favorite repeat resort of ours since the first visit, 10 years ago. Now I've returned once more to share this exquisite Adults Only gem with my mom!
While some resorts claim 5-star resort status, the Iberostar Grand Paraiso has earned a position as a top 5-star luxury resort. Iberostar Paraíso Grand Riviera Maya sits on a long, fine, white sandy beach in Mexico's Riviera Maya. Offering a great mix of relaxing meets fun 'n the sun. Their Butler and concierge service, really kick up your experience a notch. A 5.0 rating out of nearly 10,000 reviews on Trip Advisor is not often see in an All-Inclusive resort.
The Suites:
I simply LOVE their Suites! Everything about them from the comfy bed, to the spacious well appointed bathrooms (double sinks too!), the decor and just overall spacious suites -- I cannot say enough about them. Dreaming of an Ocean View? The Riviera Maya is quite lush & tropical overall, however the Iberostar Grand Paraiso boasts some of THE most incredible Ocean Front Suites!
They also have hands down THE best balcony ever! Why you ask? Great question! Because the way the building was designed the over-hang jets so far out that even in a downpour short of the rain coming in sideways -- we've stood out here during hard rains leaning out on the railing without a drop on us. Growing up watching storms with my dad, this has been a nostalgic enjoyable treat for me I've not be able to find at other resorts. Oh and naps -- THE best here ... we are big time nap folks when we arrive first day. The walls are so thick here, we always have a quiet afternoon nap here! Hey, sometimes it's the simple pleasures that pull a great vacation together!
The Cuisine:
The meals we've enjoyed at this resort, are some of the best we've had with an All Inclusive resort. With a variety of À la carte restaurants ranging from a Surf & Turf, French, Italian, Japanese and more. Oh and their breakfast & lunch buffets, the variety is next level great! Top that off with a Bloody Mary & Mimosa station to really start your day! While most resorts may offer a single restaurant with an ocean view -- here 4 give you spectacular Ocean Views! With 24-hour room service with an extensive room service menu, you cannot go wrong!
Pools:
With 3 pools depending on your mood you've got the choices of either a lake pool with swim-up bar, quiet pool, and a heated indoor/outdoor pool with a retractable roof (at the spa). You'll also enjoy Pool concierge, towel service& lots of comfortable chair options including some Bali-bed styles.
Entertainment: Their entertainment options within the All Inclusive package include a nightly show as well as an optional upgraded private dinner & theater experience.
Spa/Fitness Center/Activities:
Their Spa specializes in offering treatments for couples wishing to live and share an incomparable experience. All suites are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and they are lighted with different colors. This technique known as Chromotherapy contributes to achieve holistic balance. The suites also have hydrotherapy equipment for the couple's private use. Their therapists strive to offer personalized service to every couples needs. They also have a good sized fitness center and tennis options, included lighted for evening play.
Golf:
Their championship par 72 course boasts an impressive slope of 136 with a rating of 72.4 and is located within the grounds of the resort complex. Advanced rental equipment is available. Also has a driving range, an extensive pro-shop, and a 19th-hole Club House. Another cool feature is this golf course was featured in the Golf Realty show "The Big Break". My guy has played here a few times and LOVES this course! Very well manicured grounds ... if you're a golfer, this course isn't to be missed!
**Golf discounts and unlimited golf packages are available through the hotel for an additional fee at Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club.
This resort holds a special place in our hearts as they did a very special birthday surprise for my guy, involving room service. I've found these extra touches definitely help create everlasting memories! Please feel free to ask me about that story, I'd be happy to share if this resort happens to capture your attention!
To sum up -- why consider this resort for your next vacation? Well, the service is really great, the food was next level -- Golf course was quite nice with a good mix of fun and relaxing. Plus, did I mention the suites are some of the best we've ever had?
Are you ready to let your story unfold at the Iberostar Grand Paraíso on your next warm-weathered getaway?
