New Zealand

In all my years as a Travel Professional, I’ve asked countless people, “What’s on your must-see list?” And without fail, New Zealand is always at the top! Honestly, who wouldn’t want to experience this majestic ...

One of the most beautiful lakes - Moraine Lake

The Canadian Rockies are a BUCKET LIST item for many. Canada's breathtaking scenery is just something you simply need to witness with your own eyes at least once in your lifetime. Rocky Mountaineer offers some incredible rail journeys for you to do just that!

Here are some key components to help you decide if this is the right experience for you:

Level of Service:

While Silver & Gold Leaf are both wonderful experiences, there will be some differences.

  • SilverLeaf – SilverLeaf Service offers beautiful panoramic views, delicious meals and beverages brought right to your seat. You'll have 2 entrée choices with Breakfast & Lunch.  Dinner will always be on your own, however can be included if you'd like.

  • GoldLeaf - GoldLeaf Service offers custom designed bi-level glass-domed coach. With world-class cuisine you'll dine restaurant style. You'll have the choice of 5 to 6 entrée choices for Breakfast & Lunch. You'll also be able to enjoy their large, exclusive outdoor viewing platform.

You'll only have daylight train travel, to ensure you're able to soak up all of the incredible views Canada has to offer! No matter if you choose SilverLeaf or GoldLeaf you'll be enjoying locally sourced foods & local wines from the Okanagan Valley Wine Region of British Columbia. While on the train it is all inclusive, which includes meals, snacks, alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages. At night you'll be in overnight hotel stays, therefore dinners are on your own. You may always choose to add those in your package in advance if you'd prefer.

Rail Route:

Rocky Mountaineer offers 3 Rail Routes. Two that go to Jasper and 1 that goes to Banff.

One of the many unique benefits if you choose to travel with Rocky Mountaineer is that many routes are not accessible by car. The natural beauty of Pyramid Falls can only be gazed upon with Rocky Mountaineer.

Regardless of your rail route chosen, you need at least 1 extra night in Vancouver, if not 2 or 3. Vancouver is absolutely one of THE most beautiful cities in the world. If you wish visit Victoria, you'll need to have 2 nights in Vancouver as Victoria is an all day trip. Another must is a lunch on Granville Island, very cool experience!

Package:

You can either choose between motor-coach excursions or self-drive exploration. If you choose the self-drive there is only 1 road therefore impossible to get lost! It's also a very easy & scenic drive.

Season:

Rocky Mountaineer operates between Mid-April to Mid-Oct. There will be a few differences, depending on the season.

  • Spring: Snowcapped mountains. In the spring because tons of wildlife are coming out of hibernation, this tends to leave many opportunities for sightings. It is important to note that Lake Louise will be frozen over until about June 1sst if this is important to you.

  • Summer: During the summer months, the weather is impeccable with everything in full bloom! It will be a bit more crowded during this time.

  • Autumn: During the Autumn the colors are vibrant in Vancouver. Wildlife will be looking for food to head back into hibernation, leaving again more opportunities for wildlife sightings. Lastly when you hit the Canadian Rockies the evergreens contrast beautifully with the golden leaves of the aspen trees.
