Clients always tell me how beautiful the beaches of the Dominican are so I just had to go and see for myself....and they were right! The beach is my happy place and the beaches in the Dominican did not disappoint.
My husband and I stayed at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach which is the adults only section of the Barcelo complex. This resort is located on 2 miles of white-sand beach where you can sip tropical beverages and stare out at the ocean stretching into the horizon. Watch out for the man walking around with the giant snake wanting to take your picture. Ick! My husband and I hid in the water until he was gone, no pictures needed here.
We booked an excursion that took us out and about and we got to see the island. I even rode a horse and I don't even know how! These horses are well trained and basically just follow the leader which works great for me. Mine of course wanted to be upfront so we pushed our way through the crowd and led the group, this horse had a personality a lot like mine. The Dominican is known for it's Rum so we toured a distillery and tasted the yummy product. Much different than what you get around here.
