I recently had the opportunity to travel to Quito Ecuador and Cruise the Galapagos, and I can genuinely say that it was a life changing, incredible experience!
I started my journey by flying to Quito Ecuador and spent three days exploring Otavalo, Colonial Quito and The Middle of the World.
The Middle of the World is where you will be at Latitude and Longitude 0 and have the chance to put one leg on each side of the equator.
From Quito, it was a short 2-hour flight to Baltra where I jumped in a Zodiac and was brought to the cruise ship.Throughout my sailing I was able to not only see amazing birds, mammals, sea life and reptiles, but I was able to be within 6 feet of them.
It felt as though we were friends, with not one creature expressing fear or portraying anything other than either curiosity or indifference to the humans around them. It was so incredibly cool.
The one thing I do caution, is that this type of travel does require that you have good mobility, as it entails hoping in and out of Zodiac boats, and both wet and dry landings on the islands.
This is a vacation that I believe everyone should take in life.
