Barging along the Canal du Nivernais in Burgundy

Famous for its vineyards, fine cheeses, handcrafted mustards, charming chateaux, and  gourmet food, the Burgundy region of France is easily accessible from Paris, yet is a quiet world apart.  The best way to discover this area is from the deck of a hotel barge on one of its canals, as I had the opportunity to experience.

With a maximum capacity of 12 guests or fewer, your deluxe floating home travels slowly along the scenic, rural canals, stopping periodically to allow your small group to step ashore for a private wine tasting, a truffle hunt, or a gourmet meal.  While onboard, you'll be taken care of by a dedicated staff, including your own chef!  In the evening, enjoy a fine meal prepared just for you, highlighting local products, cheese, and wines.  On a hotel barge, everything is included, so you can relax and focus on enjoying your trip.

Barging is great for couples, small groups of friends, and multi-generational families looking for a peaceful, well planned, and luxurious way to discover the "real France," away from the crowds and hustle and bustle of the city.

As a French canal hotel barge expert, I have the experience and connections to help you make this dream vacation a reality!  Contact me to start planning your barge vacation through France today.
